Pre-University Course

Eligibility: Admission is open to candidates who have passed their karnataka SSLC Examination or its Equivalent (ICSE, CBSE, Others) examination recognized by the Pre-University Education Board.

Part 1: Languages
  • English
  • Kannada, Hindi or French
Part 2. Any one of the following combinations:

Science:

  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology.
  • Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics,Computer Science
  • Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Home Science.

Commerce:

  • History, Economics, Commerce, Accountancy
  • Basic Mathematics, Economics, Commerce, Accountancy

Arts:

  • History, Economics, Sociology, Political Science.

 

Tests & Examinations

I PUC

  • There will be an annual examination at the end of the 1 year PUC, in addition to two quarterly tests and a mid-term examination.
  • Declaration of passes: All those who obtain a minimum of 30% in a paper and 35% in the aggregate of the annual examination shall be declared promoted. In special cases a student may be promoted on the basis of her performance in the quarterly tests and mid-term examination.
  • A report card on the student's performance will be prepared at the end of every examination. Parents / Guardians are expected to closely monitor the progress of their child / ward and the attendance put in by them.
  • The Decision of the promotion committee will be final.

II PUC

  • There will be one test and two examinations conducted by the college apart from the Annual Board / University examination.
  • Students will be exempted from the tests / examinations only for reasons of serious illness provided their parents / guardian submit for the reason for the absence to the Principal in person before the end of the examination.
  • Students who stay away without permission will be heavily penalized.
  • Students resorting to unfair means during examinations will be severely dealt with.
  • A report card on the student's performance will be prepared at the end of every examination. Parents / Guardians are expected to closely monitor the progress of their child / ward and the attendance put in by them.

Attendance

  • The lecturers will maintain attendance registers and they will take attendance for each hour.
  • Students are expected to be in classes on time. Latecomers will not enter the class without the permission of the member of staff in charge of that class.
  • No student may absent herself from classes without leave. All leave applications must be addressed to the Principal and signed by the Parent / Guardian.
  • A medical certificate must accompany leave applications for reasons of illness beyond four days.
  • A student absenting herself for more than seven days without a leave application is liable to have her name struck off the rolls.
  • Students are expected to attend the Value Education Classes.
  • Absence of students on days of test and examinations and on the first and last working day of each term will be seriously dealt with.
  • Students are advised not to absent themselves for trivial reasons. They are reminded that good results depend much on time spent constructively.

Attendance Requirement for Final Examination

A candidate shall be considered to have completed the attendance for the year if she has attended three fourth of the number of working periods in each of the subjects during the said year. The Principal shall have power to condone shortage of attendance up to 15 percent of the total number of working periods. The P.U. Board shall have powers to condone shortage of attendance of the students who have put in below 60% but not less than 50% of the total periods held in one language / Subject only, subject to the condition that the average attendance in all subjects / languages should not be less than 75 % of the total periods held during the academic year.

Students who do not satisfy the requirements of attendance, or whose shortage of attendance is not condoned, as mentioned above, shall not be recommended by the college to appear for the PUC / University examinations.

General Rules

  • The first hour of the morning session will commence after prayer which is compulsory.
  • The students are expected to greet the lecturer with polite 'Good Morning' or 'Good Afternoon' as the case may be on meeting them for the first time each day.
  • Inattentiveness in class, insubordinate and rude behavior of any kind to the lecturer will be strictly dealt with. The transfer certificate of such students will be issued to them before the end of term, after due warning.
  • When there is no class, students should spend their time in the library.
  • Students must treat the building, furniture and equipment with care and consideration. Any loss or destruction will be chargeable individually or collectively.
  • Students will carry their identity cards with them at all times. This will be shown to authorized persons when demanded.
  • Students are advised to read the College Notice Board everyday.
  • Strikes and similar demonstrations are not allowed but a respectful representation of grievances will always be looked into.
  • No books, pamphlets or papers will be circulated by the students, nor tickets for any program sold within the premises without the permission of the Principal.
  • There shall be no money raised for any purpose whatsoever, or gifts made to staff members, or others, without the permission of the Principal
  • Students will not meet visitors in the college. They will have their letters, money orders, and communication addressed to their home or hostel.
  • Excursions,if any, of long or short duration, will be organized by the College Authorities only.
  • Students are expected to adopt a modest style of dress (Salwar Kameez / Jeans with long kurthas only) within the premises. Students not conforming to this may be required at any time to leave the college.
  • Usage of mobile phone is strictly restricted in the college building.
  • Parents are expected to keep in touch with the college staff from time to time during the lunch break.

    Every student shall abide by the rules of the college and must strive to maintain discipline in the college at all times.
